OK.... I think I've reached my limit of tinkering with BS34's on my 82 KZ1000 J motor setup. All the jetting, synching, mixture adjusting , seal replacing that I can stand, and I am at the giving up on them ever being right stage. Could have bought a nice new smoothie setup for all the money and time ive spent messing with these turds.

So, thinking of replacing with a nice old reliable set of VM28's. However, not as straight forward due to the dual throttle cable setup necessary, different intake manifolds, airbox/pods setup and the like.

Does anyone have any recomendation for a set of right hand controls off of a modern sportbike, running a dual cable setup that may work with the VM28 setup? Thought about going to a vintage KZ aftermarket right hand setup, but it might be trick to go with something more modern?

Thanks.

You know what, I don't have a one to some other number of douche-bag scale. So.. Six!

They will work with one cable, it just isnt as safe. The 28s I have use a really stout spring so I dont see a problem

APE and Motion Pro have reasonable push-pull throttle assemblies you can buy.

You can ad a spring on the back side of the carb cable holder and bend the tangs to make them work. It gives just enough power to close the carbs.

Am addicted to Z1's and kz 900's have an el camino, fly rc helicoptors and am strung out on horsepower.

"Could have bought a nice new smoothie setup for all the money and time ive spent messing with these turds."...   Yup!

Now before everyine gets their panties all bound up... :pinch: Again...
Nothing really wrong with the BS34's for a daily rider, cruiser etc... but as we've all discussed previously, for a performance build for power/acceleration, quick off the line pull, mid range - top end power pull etc... yeah need a different set of carbies no doubt.

As mentioned, go with the push/pull assembly and be done with it... Got mine @ Dynoman...

I run my VM 29's with one cable a 1/4 turn Motion Pro throttle
and a return spring that's about 1/3 as stiff as stock and never had an issue.
