Good point but he was born in & was from Donegal which is in the South of Ireland...........to add more confusion even though Donegal is classified as the South of Ireland geographically it's in the North..........i'll leave you guys to figure that one out yourselves, i cant! :side: :S

Gary Moore was awesome. I used to think he was from Dublin because before Thin Lizzy he played with Skid Row along with Brush Shiels and Nollaig Bridgeman. They were the best ! Only recently did I learn he was from the North.

Rory Gallagher was something else. I used to see him a long time ago first with taste and then with his own group. I picked upa great DVD recently of him at the Cork Opera House.

PS I vote for the morgan carbtune also. Good decision KZJOE900

No just received it a couple of days ago and haven't put it together yet. Here is my Do List I have been working on. I fixed the front brake light actuation issue this morning.  So it look like I won't get to it until sometime during the week or next Saturday. My wife works weekends so I only have until 3:30 pm on the weekends before watching the kids. I plan on making a short video as I balance the carbs. I kept trying to find one on Youtube but nothing specific to a big KZ. So I figured a video may help others in the future. As long as I don't mess it up, lol.

Rear Brake / Front Rear Sprocket Replacement / Clutch lube adjustment.

1. Take off Chain cover.
2. Loosen front sprocket nut while holding break.
3. Take off rear wheel.
4. Recondition rear brakes
5. Replace wheel bearing.
6. Replace front and rear Sprockets and Chain.
7. Re-tighten front sprocket while holding rear break.
8. Lube clutch shaft and clutch worm gear on cover (use thread lock)
9. Install new Chain cover.

Valve Adjustment / Carb Synchronization

1. remove valve cover. ** Done **
2. Measure Valves clearances. *** Done ***
3. Re-shim out of spec valves. *** Done ***
4. Polish and Reinstall valve cover.
5. synchronize the carburetors.

Front Brake Tail Light Fix / Install New Headlight Stays / Adjust Head Stem

1. Remove Fairing. **** Done ****
2. Remove Front Wheel fender.
3. Remove front wheel.
4. Remove head light. **** Done ****
5. Loosen fork tubes and install new headlight stays.
6. Reinstall fork tubes/ front wheel.
7. Adjust head stem.
8. Fix wiring fault for front brake. ***** Done ****
9. Reinstall head light.
10. Reinstall fairing.
11. Replace front wheel bearings.
12. Reinstall Wheel.

KZ900Joe, after talking to you the other day on the phone about the Morgan Carbtune you just purchased I have decided to purchase one myself since I have a few bikes that would benefit. I do appreciate that you offered to loan it to me when I told you I have a set of 29 smoothbores on the bench in pieces.

That is a noble gesture in my book to offer a brand spanking new tool for me to use.

Once I bench assemble the 29's to get them close I will surely need the sync tool, but since I have two bikes that need simultaneous valve adjustments (KZ650, KZ900) plus my other bikes that would benefit I probably need one in the tool chest anyways. I am leaning to the Morgan Carbtune purchased from the UK link listed above. I will probably order them next week.

Joe I will take you up on the shim exchange you offered if you have the right ones I need.
My 650 has under buckets so an exchange partner/partners may be needed also, anybody interested?

Here is a comparison of the Morgan Carbtune Pro and the Motion Pro SyncPRO. It is a few years old but informative for comparisons sake.

Morgan Unit:
NOTE: How steady each carb measurement is.... Gauges fluctuate/bounce more making it hard to read.
Mine did anyways and that is when I went with the Morgan unit instead.

Color-Tune:
NOTE: Listen closely for idle/rpm changing when turning pilot/slow screw for blue...
RPM gets better with each carb adjustment for IDEAL A/F settings of each carb... ;)
