Carb Sync instructions 79 kz1000 was created by davem
I am sure there is directions somewhere on here on syncing carbs but i cant find it. I didnt have much luck when searching the archives.

I am looking for detailed instructions on syncing the carbs on my 79 kz1000.
Can someone point me in the right direction? My manual doesnt have it in it.
Thaanks
A resource for a factory service manual would be great as well.

Check KZr's FILEBASE (search manual) to locate FSM for Z1-900 (contains sync instructions), and several carb topics that include sync info.

You really should put your year/model in your signature; that way folks might be able to be more helpful. I know you state you have a 1979 KZ1000, but is it a 1979 KZ1000 A3; A3A; B3; C2; or E1? It does matter if you’re trying to find the manual. Ed

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI could not find an original Base Service Manual for the '79; maybe someone else can say which reprint would be appropriate, but here's the "supplement" for the B3:

Am thinking the carbs are manual slide carbs (not CV carbs).

Sync adjust screws are under each cover on top of carb.

Mixture adjustment screw is probably located so as to be reached from the bottom , on the engine side of carb.

Should also be a single idle adjustment screw that regulates closed throttle slide position on all carbs.

Good Fortune! :)

Forgot to mention that the bottom-located pilot mixture screws may still have the factory non-tamper plug hiding access to each screw. The plugs are removable, but be very careful to drill a very shallow hole into the plug (don't hit the underlying screw) whereby a sheet metal screw may be inserted to grip and pull on to remove the plug.

Good Fortune! :)

Yes, and also get the standard model manual when it becomes available.

It's best to have both the basic manual and the LTD supplement.

Good Fortune! :)
