pingel petcock question

i won by ebay auction a pingel 6211
and adapter plate, new for a bargain price.

i'm know that other kzr's have changed
the stock petcock to a pingel.

The instructions in the kit, advises
to use teflon tape, there wasn't any
included in the kit? the photo shows
a white teflon tape, this one is not fuel
proof. the yellow teflon tape is fuel proof.

q) has any used the white teflon tape
without leaks please?m

you've to make the petcock hole
slightly rounder, with a file. some suggest
a dremal grinding stone (fuel removed!).

q) how do you make the petcock
hole larger, with a file or other and
not get filings in your precious tanks
insides?

why do u need to make the hole larger. r u triing to adapt a wrong plate.
i have not used an adaptor so i cant advise u there. i see no reason that u could not use a file or dremal to enlarge the hole.
i have and do use white pluming Teflon tape on my petcocks, with no trouble.

The Pingel fuel valve threads into the adapter plate & the Pingel has a round fuel screen. The hole in her tank is oblong in shape to accept an oblong screen. I bought one of those plates but never used it.
