KZ1100 carb vacuum line question... was created by Gary - K7GLD
This is a 2 part question:
It seems these bikes use a T'd connection to operate the Kawasaki Air system in OEM setup - essentially connecting the vacuum side of the affected carbs together - but when some of us delete that air system, what should be done concerning the interconnected vacuum lines? Does the OEM air setup provide other benefits in "balancing" the affected carb's vacuum?
Is it really necessary to still use that method - essentially connecting the vacuum sides of those outer cylinders together somehow "balance" vacuum between the 2 cylinders?
If so, and there IS an advantage to connecting THOSE 2 cylinders together, why not also connect 2 & 3 together with a vacuum line as well?

Wondering if possibly confusing the hose from Tee to the clean air valve, where vac hoses from outside carbs #1/4 supply vac to the Tee (not the petcock).
Good Fortune!

SORRY - I had come to the same conclusion, and was editing my OP while you were responding...
I think you're right - but I still wonder what the effect of connecting those 2 carb vacuum lines has on engine operation - good or bad? Maybe NO effect at all?

Guessing the clean air paraphernalia was previously removed, and perhaps was then decided to run the hose from the Tee to the petcock, and connect the other two vac nipples instead of capping/plugging them.
On the twins, have heard of some reported minimal balancing benefits of connecting the two vac nipples, but believe most owners don't bother with it.
In the case at hand, would use one vac nipple to operate the petcock, and cap/plug the other three nipples.
Seems like connecting two of the vac nipples would cause problems with syncing the carbs.
