hey how about another jetting question? was created by lunchbox
i'm putting a set of pods on my 81 kz 750, but i'd like to leave the stock 2into 1's on the bike. usually i'd upgrade the exhaust, jets, and airflow all at the same time, but i'd like to keep the exhaust. have any of you did this? if so how many jet sizes worked for you? i'm running stock keihin(sp?) carbs, 26mm cv's. and have any of you changed to hotter plugs when doing this? thanks in advance!

p.s. i did a search and didn't find the answer i was looking for.

By adding the pods, you are leaning your air/fuel mixture so the hotter plugs would be a real poor idea.

I don't remember the stock jetting on a KZ750... what is it? You have a main, secondary main and slow jet. Adding pods, I would likely try one size up on the main, three sizes on the secondary main and one size up on the slow jet but I doubt you will find the larger slow jets. Leave the jet needle alone at this point as the fat little Keihin jet needles seem to work OK without shimming.
