Carb tuning issue was created by Yorke2112
Hey guys and gals, I just got my Kz650/810 started today after a year long process of rebuilding the bike. I had a major issue with the starter clutch, I got that sorted out now to the next issue.
A little history, the bike is a KZ650 that has 750 cylinders bored to 810, there are 650 heads with 750 cams, Dyna ignition and coils, Kerker exhaust.
With the choke on, the bike starts right up and runs, it then begins to idle very high. If I turn the choke off the bike dies, if I try to blip the throttle it dies. I rebuilt the carb and jetted according to recommendations from Z1.
I have another set of carbs that are 28mm bored to 30mm that I might try tomorrow, they are in better overall shape. I didn't put them on today because I need to modify the boots (elongate the mounting holes) as they are for a Z1. And I need to rejet the carbs, which I have.
I appreciate any help or insight you guys might have, Thanks!

That was easy! I'm glad to help any time! :woohoo:
I suppose you are getting more gas now? If you were using 24's before they would make a really quick responsive carb on the take off if you get them dialed in. Roy
