Yeah I saw on another thread that thats a good jetting for these carbs with the light mods I have. But I just thought that that would be too much. Is that keihin jets or mikuni?

Keep in mind, they would have been re-jetted pending exhaust, elevations, temperatures, pods vs air box, performance engine build etc....

What do your plugs look like (carbon/sooted = Rich, white = Lean, speckled = pre detonation)?

Exhaust back firing on deceleration, lag on acceleration or surging?

Generally I would rejet on any occasion of modification. The PO didnt rejet when he put pipe and pods on though. So I'm assuming this is where the terrible backfire on deceleration is.

Backfire on deceleration can also be cracked carb boots that mount between the head and carbs. Check for any cracks in the rubber. If cracked and dryrotted it can leak and cause backfiring.

It could be a number of things including jetting

Really big bangs on deceleration can also be the air suction system malfunctioning. It's the big contraption on top of the motor. It feeds airbox air into the exhaust system through the valve cover.

If you bike has that (U.S. bikes did, Canadian did not), try connecting the valve cover ports to each other, or just cap them off. Cap off any vacuum line going to the diaphragm valve mechanism too.

Okay your right the pilot jet I took out is a 37.5. With that being said should I still net it from 107.5/37.5 to 140/40?

And The ports on the air suction system has been blocked off on carbs and valve cover.
