Hi Im new to the forums. I just got a 1982 kz440 ltd it's my first bike. Bike has about 6000 miles on it, I saved it from sitting in a garage for anther ten years and it runs after cleaning carbs. The guy who had it before me had b8hs plugs in it which have a shorter shank than the es plugs. Easy fix. However there was no air filter element. so here is what I made with things around the house.

Welcome natemaybe !

10 points for ingenuity ! Does it work ? Looks like it should.
Not to long ao there was a fellow on here who just bought a 400 or similar which ran awfull and then he found that the previous owner had stuffed an old shirt in the airbox in place of an air filter

Yeah it works alright I just covered the airbox opening with some filter foam and attached the box to hold it in place. The bike runs fine with just filter covering airbox holes, so Im interested to see if the restriction of the added filter box.

Side note: After cleaning carbs the first time I reset Pilot screws 2 1/4 out from seated, bike ran extremely rich causing stall(at idle). I screwed the pilot screws in and the bike runs great. Any thoughts?
