'74 KZ400 carburetor rebuild ISSUES!!! was created by barquirt
I am rebuilding a set of original carburetors on a 1974 KZ400. I have had them completely taken apart and professionally cleaned. Upon starting the rebuild I have run into a few "problems."

1) One of the stock main jet holder plates was so badly corroded it has broken. the tab that holds the pilot jet cap (a rubber plug) has parted company. Is it possible to even find this part any more? (this is labeled as number 45 on a parts diagram). I also need new rubber plugs, these were not in my rebuild kit.

2) the bike came with a set of carburetors from a Honda SL360. they fit into the stock intake boots, but would these work if the originals wind up being too far gone to salvage? Anyone ever try this modification?

3) and third: where can i find some replacement intake boots (the rubber carb boots). The originals are in bad shape and are probably not very reliable and would result in an air leak.

ANY help on these topics is MUCH appreciated!!!
