My carb knowledge is very limted. I think this could be a stuck float but wanted see if it could possibly be a petcock issue. This is one of those that doesn't have an off position and has been leaking very slowly out the bottom but that it. Could something have happened to it to cause the leak out of the carb when runnning? Rode the bike 2 weeks ago without issue. Thanks in advance!
With engine running at idle, try rapping smartly against the float bowl with a plastic hammer or large screw driver handle, which sometimes allows the float needle to re-set in the seat orifice.
Could also try running some SeaFoam in the fuel to hopefully clear the float valve.
If carb dis-assembly becomes necessary to clean and/or replace the float valves, be sure to also check the slim brass overflow tube inside the float bowl to determine whether it might be cracked.
Good Fortune!
