Is the ABC 90's going to clear the frame tubing?

Any images of this installed/in-place?

Hey all,

Glad to see there's some interest about this idea. To answer some questions/thoughts.

I do still need to buy filters. Not sure which ones I'm going to go with at this point though. The point of using the piping instead of straight pods is for that little bit of back pressure; so jetting MAY not be needed. But we'll see when that time comes.

If things work out with this, I also want to make it into a metal piece. Wouldn't be that hard since the "prototype" is already there and set up.

I'm not with the motorcycle at this time, probably wont get back to the shop until tomorrow or something this coming week. I'll be sure to take some pics of installation. Just a little worried about clearing the frame, but there might be a way around that.

Always looking for different and cheaper ways to build everything as long as it gets the job done the right way. My build is located HERE

Finally got back to the shop. Got the "airbox" fitted and took some pics you guys wanted to see.

Had to actually cut them down about 3/4in so they would fit horizontally. Was in a little rush, so they aren't correctly seated in the boots. But you guys get the main idea.

Once I buy a filter, you wont be able to see the innards of whats happening really. Happy with how they came out. Maybe time to get them into a metal piping setup...

Maybe I missed this comment already, but the way it's plumbed, wouldn't carbs 1 and 4 get more air than their mate, 2 and 3? If you follow the airpath, it's less resistance for it to go into 1 or 4 instead of 2 and 3. Seeing as the diameter of the pipe is large, it might not make a difference, but I'm thinking your outter carbs might see more air than the inner ones. Would maybe having a piece of pipe between 2 and 3 tieing everything together help alleviate this?

You bring up a great point. I have thought about this problem/ possible solutions. I am going to wait untill I get the ride totally running and test it. If the plug chop tells me 1 and 4 are more lean, I'll try to adjust or, or maybe make that inner tube connecting all 4. It's a a new idea so just gonna take a little time.

Peter has a good point too... the faster you go, the more air you will be getting into them... I wonder how the hell harley's do it when they have those crazy intakes - oh wait, they don't got over 45... :)

Most HD or side draft carbs have a wind deflector.
