bs38 mikuni cv carbs

I needed carbs for my 82 twin. Just recently bought some bs38 mikuni carbs and they came with the boots. unfortunately when I go to bolt them up to my 82 750 twin, the boots are too big to bolt up. any ideas with this problem? i just blew over 50 dollars for these because someone just told me to change the boots when it came to changing the bs34 mikuni to the bs38s.

Sorry I can't tell which Carb holders would be correct. On yours are there small vacuum ports on the Carb Holders for setting the sync? If not then it would be a good Idea to check, maybe Dennis Kirk. They have a good catalog with different size Carb Holders/ Manifolds. They should show I.D. and bolt spacing.
But maybe someone knows what will fit for you, post the I.D. and the bolt spacing and see.

no mine doesn't have the vacuum ports on the carb holders.

My 82 motor has 76-80 carb boots and BS38 carbs, and it was all a straight bolt on.
Maybe you have Yamaha 650 carbs and/or boots?
