took these apart to rebuild and noticed needle position on one carb was different than the others , more hanging out when looking at them with bowls off , should i put them back this way ? this is on the accelerator pump carb. also was missing the little brass weight and ball in that carb . needle position to compensate for this ? also only numbers i could find on these carbs is on the bottoms of the bowls it is 35 thats all , does this mean anything ? lastly , white lumpy corrosion on carb inside bowls on the jet housings but not inside where jets and needle seats and float valve is , still worth rebuilding?

Imo, jet needle clips should be in the same position on every needle.
Often, stock position is the middle clip position, but this isn't universal.

Good Fortune! :)

Agreed, I never heard of the needles being clipped differently.
Do check that the main jets are all the same.
If the one on carb two is a different size, then maybe the PO compensated by clipping the needle differently.
Clean them up and resync them.

thanks fellas , was getting worried ,did something wrong. rstnick i never thought of that ill check the jets tomorrow , and thanx patton i was thinking they should be the same. any info about the bowls having the numbers 35 on the bottom ? also im replacing the 0 rings in each carb but cant find a source for the little brass weight and ball in the bowls . tried CMSNL and Z1 , i was thinking i could cut a piece of brass tube from hobby store and fill with solder , and use a bb or a ball bearing from a bicycle neck, might just work. this bike is a 77 650 b . one more question , can these carbs work without the accelerator pump ? maybe just not as quick to respond?

First agree, that the needles should be set the same on each carb. But I do have quesiton. Is it a 77b or a 78b? IIRC the 77 did not come with accel pump carbs, but some of the 78s did. However, after 30 some years the carbs may have been changed at some point.

As to the parts you are missing, I think they are part of the accel pump rebuild kits you can purchase. However, I could be wrong about that.

I am not familar with the number on the bowl that you describe, but there should be some very small numbers stamped on the flange just below the choke lever on carb #1. The accel pump carbs should have the following stamped there;

108
4 - there may well be other numbers or letters after the 4.

This would indicate the carb assembly is part# 16001-1084. If that is the case they came stock with the following needle - 5CL16 with the clip in the 3rd slot.
