Another Leaking Petcock Question was created by mwriders
Yep, the petcock on my KZ440B1 is leaking. This is a single hose vacuum unit (the non-functioning vacuum fitting is factory sealed). I rebuilt it with a standard kit last winter. The leak, (as near as I can tell from touch, sight and staining) appears to be at the connection to the tank. Now, I cleaned the tank and have a new 'O' ring from the kit. So, either the fitment to the tank is bad (pitted tank, maybe)or it is leaking around the bolts. I'm looking for an easy fix here. A chemical solution would be really nice (e.g. fast). Can I wrap the bolt threads in something? Use a sealant along with the 'O' ring?

Some 440's run two lines from the petcock, some run a single fuel line to an spigot located between the carbs. This one is the latter. They apparently use the same petcock, and just seal off the unused spigot at the petcock.
