What fuel line to use for aftermarket petcock?

and it seems like a great alternative to Pingels, which cost about $100.
Now I realize the bung is 5/16" vs. 1/4" for normal petcocks on a KZ. I tried pushing the standard fuel line on it and I think the line might split. Alternate plans are to see if there's a reducer fitting that goes from 5/16" down to 1/4" (anybody seen one?) or grind down the edge of the bung on the petcock to get the fuel line on easier and then use a hose clamp to keep the fuel line on.
Who's come up with a good solution for this?

Maybe I'll check the local hardware stores as Patton suggests.

Sometimes this works so well that a clamp isn't needed.

Good Fortune!
Heat gun for peeling paint or a hair blow dryer on high to soften it up first? I've used both with good results.

I'm liking the idea of sanding down the barb on the petcock, warming up the 1/4 inch fuel line and seeing if it will fit.
Thanks, Mike

That's likely pretty good quality fuel line at the HD dealership, and perhaps not all that over-priced.
I'd check on it.
Some of the HD accessories are quite good.
