I have a set of these on one of my bikes. ('77 Kz1000) They work awesome! Bike pulls better than it ever has and idles great. As for the price, has anyone checked the price on a set of 29 smoothbores lately on Ebay ? I've seen them go over $800 easy. Also the ones you get from George are ready to bolt on. He jets them for your particular bike. can't say that for the ebay carbs. Who Knows what you'll get or how much work it will take to get them up to par.

As for the bore job on these. The only thing modified is the body. The slides, jets needles and all other componets are stock. Not sure if the Maxi bore carbs can say that.

Wish I had a 29mm smoothbore parts breakout/manual... Anyone have one in pdf?

I can hear NADS now...
I drilled & drilled the hole is no longer filled.... etc....
GO NADDY GO!!!!

Interesting concept just the same.. B)

Have to go with your idea on this one, IMHO you can't get more flow than your smallest diameter hole will allow. I guess you could improve the flow in and out but that only would be if the process didn't produce a severe step with inherent turbulence/back pressure to the air flow on either or both sides. Never had a pre-jetted carb set work out exactly right on an actual modded bike without some more tweaking once installed and tried in the real world.

Maybe Larry could comment?
