Based on what I'm reading here, I should junk my "Shitty Keihins" CRs & PODs and replace them with BS-34s and an airbox for increased performance... Correct? :S
Damn it Plumi & lar, whyd you guys not tell me this sooner.... You guys suck!

Well Larry has been informing us this for the longest of time, all depends on how you wanted to listen to the man I guess...
Break down: It's not that they are a necessarily a bad design or that they wont work for a stock engine build with AIR BOX.... He's stated that a gazillion times... (Is that even a word )
But when we/you/anyone starts comparing to new CR/RS performance carbs for performance engine builds, or in the $$$ in jet kits/rigging them to work with PODs for example, well that's when he enlightens us with his knowledge and kindly replies "Fill with concrete & use as a boat anchor".... :pinch:
Conclusion: Will they run on your bike Yup, will they operate for cruising and some mild throttle twisting Yup, will they idle and operate throughout most of the rpm range Yup
NOTE: if tuned correctly.... But will they out perform a RS/CR carb... Is that even a question...
If happy with your BS34s and tuning works on your ride for 95% of your riding style then good to go...
For those that are wanting extra performance and are close to spending a considerable amount of change rebuilding them BS carbs, desiring PODs, jet kits, epxecting the same results as in a performance carb etc....... Spend the extra $$$$ and go brand new set of RS/CR...
Used rebuilt set of BS-carbs $500 plus shipping. Still have to jet for your area.
New set of CRs $600. Still have to jet for your area...
New set of RS $700. Still have to jet for your area...
Plus buy PODs... $100
Gee, which way do I go.... :S
EDIT: Sorry for CRs are now priced @ $730 @ Dynoman.... RS @ $669

Interesting where the CRs are now more $$$ then the RS...
When I bought mine, the RS were ~ $100 more.
Best assumption is 34mm vs 29mm.
29mm suits more builders requirements, makes sense when you really think about.
WOT/racing long & straight line designed tracks, sure go with 34s....
Tight twisty/cornering type tracks-strett use, low-mid range performance, yup 29mm suits more our desires in performance for how many of us are truly riding regularly at WOT...
Ah well, thanks for the education but you still suck...
