Not having a lot of luck... does anyone know special tricks to get the kz750-H throttle cable re-installed? Either I've got hands that are entirely too big or I'm missing something pretty significant. Spent all night messing with it with very little luck.
Just checking. Might be a "be patient" type fix but I don't want to miss something.

Before you put the carbs in the place in the boots, I usually put the throttle cable on, first use your thumb to open the throttle valves open, then pop the cable in place, then put the carbs in place; should be set to go

Not an easy fix with the carbs in place on the bike. However I have managed to do it by working from the left hand side of the bike. Open the the throttle valves and wedge something like a rattle can top to keep them open. The cable should be free and not attached at the throttle end. You can then fit the cable nipple into the its place on the carb sort of upside down. Once in place feed the throttle end of the cable up and through- quite tight but it can be done. Nearly impossible to do it from the top even with the throttle valves wedged open.

Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

Know any nurses? Get a nice pair of curved forcepts (hemostats). Best tiny hands(clamps) in the world. You can also get them off Ebay or Amazon.

on my 1980 750/4 E1 I have to attach at the handlebar first.
Take the gas tank off, take the carbs off and then fiddle about from the left hand side like the guys above said. I like the idea of using a haemostat. I had to replace a throttle cable on the side of the road a few months ago. I always carry spare clutch and throttle cables.
