I need some help with Jetting suggestions. was created by Iron Spade Cycles
Alright well I figured I'd introduce myself and ask a question all at the same time. My name is Travis and I own a small one man shop building custom Cafe racers from early British and Japanese brands. I'm currently working on a custom cafe for a client based on a 1979 KZ650C. We added a set of KZ750 cylinders with a Wiseco 810cc big bore kit and KZ750 cams in the stock KZ650 head. I would have used the whole top end but the 750 head had a broken valve and a stripped out intake boot bolt and was unrepairable without extensive welding and new valves. I switched over the cam gears from the 650 cams as the chains are of a different design.
We are at roughly sea level and also running a Kerker 4-1 exhaust and individual K&N filters. Jets are not cheap at $7.50-$9.00 each and since there are 4 in each carb I need to get a ball park estimate of the ideal setup before I put in my order. Any suggestions?
Here is the bike so far just after I finished painting the seat base and tank. My client is ex-military from the 82nd Airborne and having served in Desert Storm we came up with a military olive green and white paint scheme. The spade and sprocket on the seat base is my company logo. A pair of jump wings will be put on the tank as well as his unit number on the side panels I've yet to make.
Thanks for you help, talk soon Travis
