Dirty Carbs was created by n8miller
My floats keep getting stuck due to dirt in the carbs, but I'm not sure where it's coming from. I have an in line fuel filter, I've lined my tank and am running pod air filters.
Any ideas?
Thx.

Are you using a paper filter?
I always use a long piece of fuel line that is clear and make a huge "U" in the line below the carbs so I can see what is in the fuel tank.I run my bikes like this all the time.
Do you have dirt dobbers in your area that could have got in the tank when the tank was dry? Roy

Thx Roy.
It's not paper, it's one of these: www.z1enterprises.com/Fuel-Filter--High-...ne-clear-14-293.aspx
I don't think any dobbers could have gotten in it. Kept the tank in a pretty clean area the entire time. The tank was also lined in the spring and has had multiple rinses and tank refills since.
So you run the fuel line in a downwards U from the tank, hanging below the carbs and back up?

Yes, I started doing that a long time ago. I have had tanks with very fine rust and would have to disconnect the fuel line and dump the rust out several times before I got a clear line.
That way I can see what is going on. Roy
