Bs34, ANYONE WITH PODS? PLEASE HELP! was created by KzChop82
Thanks in advance to anyone reading this-
I have an 82 kz 1000 csr engine with bs34 carbs. I am trying to put my k&n pods onto the carbs, but there seems to be an issue with the sizes. The filter pods rubber lip is almost exactly the same diameter as the carb where they are supposed to be mounted, and I can't get them on.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?
Does anyone have pictures of how they mounted the pods to the carbs?
Am I supposed to use the rubber booties from the original air box?

Any help or pictures would be appreciated,
Thanks-

Some info from another thread:

But if you must, then it sounds like you have the wrong filters.

And you might want to save this post from another thread

125 would be far too much - try 112 - 117 to begin with.
You may not have to change the pilot jets - just turn out the mixture screws about 3 for starters
All depends on your engine and requirements with this application. You will be tuning and fiddling for many hours to come...

Might be best to get a jet kit that has properly tapered needles and a drill to change the slide rate.

The bike will never feel perfectly smooth again without an airbox - sorry, you may think it does after many hours spent tuning - but it wont be.

Good luck!

Take the original air box boots off and use the metal part of the carburetors to mount the pod filters this is the most common way and yes they should be 52mm in size. don't give up ;)

The proper size is 54mm for the BS34 carb. EMGO filters are cheap enough from Z1E. I like them better than K&N anyway. I have been running them on my GPz1150 for years. What is nice about the EMGO filters is that the rubber boot is removable and you do not have to oil them like K&Ns and because the filtering media is black they don't start looking filthy in a couple of weeks.
