Dear Carbs expert :),

My gpz is giving me nightmares lately (more info on engine section, anyway)

Set the fuel level to 3mm on bench (at level), did a 1 hour test drive bike ok no stalling at red lights...happy i go to work then 10 hours after when its time to leave start the bike on the choke very hard to start had to pull the throttle and it looks like only 2 cylinders was running...

Managed to make it less worse and ran to home carefuly...

I decided to check the fuel level on bike (bike at level of course!) omg carb #2 fuel is too high by half inch and carb #3 too low by nearly half-inch too!

Double checked before on bench fuel level was optimal (No i didn't raise the tubing :P) !

What's going on there ... are these BS34's cursed ?

Does not having a center stand play a role in there ? (cannot because of the headers)

My bike is always on side (except when checked the fuel level put it straight), do this upset floats?

regards,
laurent

If you set the fuel level, then set the bike on the side stand, then put it back up straight, then check the level again, it can be a little higher, but not by the amounts you are saying.

If it was truly a 1/2 inch higher, I think it should be leaking out of the overflows. If not, then it may be the measuring system is not accurate (the dreaded air bubbles!).

The only time I've had major float level headaches was when the needles were old and had ring marks on the tip. If the needle rotates, it may seat differently and require a little more or less float pressure. Replacing them (and the seats) fixed all that.

BS34's dont have an overflow, but i could confirm gas in intake boots.

Float Needle, seats, jet needle too, main jets , pilot jets, carb gasket and mixture screws are brand new!

The only thing that is not new are the floats!
When i have more $$$ i will replace the floats and then be F&%&% done :)

Thanks loud , very appreciated!
