I am looking to rebuild my carbs this weekend. I ordered two rebuild kits from www.Z1enterprises.com

Is there a definitive thread or can someone point me in the right direction.

I have done it and remember the caveats:

1) Both main and pilot jets are in the bowls. You need to make a screwdriver to fit the slot or you will destroy the jet. Get a flatblade with proper blade thickness and grind width to match jet. Keep as dedicated tool.

2) becareful taking off the diaphragms, they tear easily. Inspect looking into light for slits.

3) If you have original mounts, they probably leak.

I would take the carbs off the bike for good cleaning. Bench sync them before remounting.

Set fuel levels with clear tube before adjusting anything else because fuel levels screws up other things.

Be VERY careful tightening the bowl screws, they strip easily.

What does it take to bench sync them?

Hell what does that mean?

The Filebase (top right hand corner) is your friend on here. It has a ton of great information. If you hover over Filebase, and then choose search, you can then type in the keywords, "bench sync". The second or third results are the ones you want. Step by step instructions with pictures! I would've just copied it on here, but the pictures don't come with it that way. :)

Awesome. I was looking thru the rebuilt kit and there is a metal washer and a spring that I don't recall seeing in my carbs when I cleaned them. I thinking huh maybe a problem.

Well I rebuilt them. Feel pretty good about it. Adjusted the tabs on the float up and got the thing stop leaking like a man with a hole shot in him.

The idle is doing pretty good but it runs like crap. Need to sync the carbs still, didn't have time or the hose.

I did put two in line fuel filters. The one on the left kinda pinches the fuel line so I will need to get a longer one.

This thing is costing me some cash and time but I feel like I am pretty close to getting it running well. Hopefully soon so I can start using it as my commuter.
