I got my jetting exactly right and I thought I would share.
Started with stock; airbox, exhaust, 120 psi compression across all cylinders, used but very dependable bike. Stock jets were 102.5 main, 15 pilot, middle slot on needle in VM26ss carbs. Also I live at 3000+ feet.
Changed airbox to pods because I like the looks and the ease of maintenance. I rejetted to 110 main and 17.5 pilot. It idled well and WOT was fine. Middle throttle positions were a little rough and slow to build rpms. It also backfired through the carbs on decel.
Changed to Vance & Hines supersport exhaust. It wouldn't idle without choke and was still a little rough across the mid throttle positions. I changed the pilots to 20 and moved the needle to one slot richer and now it is perfect. It idles well, runs great through all throttle positions and revs very fast. It is like a totally different motor.
At the end of the summer I will be going to 1075cc and I'm assuming things might change a little, but I thought this might help those thinking about going to pods and a new pipe.

Thar you have it...
In my opinion -you're too rich on the pilots. One step up is sufficient with the mix screws turned out about three turns - till stumble then back in a half turn.
Especially if you find your cruise position is herky/jerky - hard to manage at low rpm - because it is too rich
The rest seems reasonably close and probly works well at your altitude - as you said.
Good on ya.

That's awesome, I was looking for some direction on where to start. I have a 78 with a Kerker and pods, right now it has 107.5 mains and 17.5 pilots at sea level. I'm still sorting out the ignition but thanks for the hints:)
