Ok braineeacks. I drilled out the main jet a long time ago on some 26mm carbs.
Ever since I did that I can start the bike up in 50deg weather no choke and same with 60deg or whatever. If I do choke it say in the morning, I have to hurry to shut the choke off or it will stall the engine (too rich already) it's basically ready to go from the time it starts up.
NOw.
How can the main jet effect the idle mix like that?
I just went for a ride and it's 63deg. Now take into account it's gonna be colder air the engine sees since the chill factor.
But son of a gun, man do I have hang on cuz at 8grand it sails down into 9500 and it'
s SHIFT! SHIFT! SHIFT!.
Yeah it moves out when the timing isn't all advanced up. That takes your top end away and idle sucks and vibration all over and heck, you can keep that timing at the mark crap.
I don't dare look even, but the hit is not anywhere close to that fire mark.
SO anyway, yeah I got that thing smokin hot, it's fast.
So now I'm wondering if maybe jetting it leaner just a touch would bring out that night time cool air power, or if you only go that fast when the air is dense like that.?
Nother question I'll have to find out on my own, geez do I have to do everything myself?
You guys are kind of lazy on me. How many wheelies did YOU pull today? Just kidding ehem.
OTAK,
I'm coming after you
I'm much more impressed than I thought I would be with the performance of my bike.
And it still has stock coils and 28mm carbs, jeez man I feel sorry for you, reely.
Cuz I'm thinkin theres no way that gypsy's gonna leave this bike, it flat out moves.
Course it needs the two mods above but then how you gonna handle it when this thing rips your outermost layer of skin off when it passes?
Seriously now this bike is jammin, and I gotta thank some folks for giving out the info on heads and jetting and such, (long as they weren't being nuns) cuz if you follow the book your gonna get 81hp and Erkle and his girlfriend are gonna laugh so hard they'll fall over rolling on the ground.
I didn't want that. I didn't get that.
Bs 34's should open this thing up nice and all my kings horses will be raring at the gate.
Like they allready are.
If we all got together and my bike was faster than any 1015cc it ran against, that would be something to be proud of. But everyone would be tugging my arm and asking me to race across the street to the beer stands. Cuz they ain't got no power on the street and that's were they belong :pinch: These folks hide next to there bikes at the eigth mile, under a tree, a canopy. They wonder when someones gonna catch onto there game and find out there bike doesn't belong anywhere really except a museum somewhere. Just a bike that some kid walks by and stops to say man that's ugly, and looks slow dad.
Don't even bother to tell the kid you had one

Dyna coils and bs34's and too the moon!
To infinity and beyond.
wish I could afford some 33mm keihins.
OH boy oh boy
Reason the ducato 848 left me behind is the timing was too advanced and my engine would'nt rev to ten grand. Like it's supposed to. Among other things, yes.
Met a girl last fall, she said whose bike. I said mine, she said I wanna ride it.
I asked her if she'd ridden and she said oh yeah. Last bike was a ninja 250 she says.
She said it didn't have any balls.
That girl weighed about 110.
Ducati boy better hide if shes on back my bike. Back atcha squid. Ain't that what you guys call them? :silly: I'm very happy with my bike Ok enough already

IMHO, enlarging main jet won't itself enrichen the carb pilot circuit.
Am suspecting there's another reason.
Air box or pods?
Filters clean and clear? Not over-oiled, or blocked?
Choke plungers functioning correctly?
Pilot air adjuster screws turned in too far?
Pilot air passages obstructed? Some pods block entrance of the pilot air passage port at intake side of carb throat.
Wrong pilot adjuster screws? Or damaged tips?
Just shot-gunning.
Good Fortune!
