I don't know, but according to Kawasaki.com the 1978 Z1R carbs were unique to that year/model. If yours are from a '78 they may be pretty rare unless they were used on a different brand bike. Ed

Speaking of 28mm pumpers.
I need a rubber diaphram for the pumper!
The dealer says it is obsolete!
I have not checked Z1E or D&L yet.
Also, before I check the jet needles, can I adjust them or are they fixed with no other grooves?
I want to lean them out, It's a customers bike, it is tired and runs rich.
He don't want to spend any $$.
It has a factory electronic ign. How do I adjust the timing? There are no slots in the 3 mounting holes in the plate?
Thanks.

So if there are 28mm pumpers, that someone advertised as coming from a Z1R (as opposed to a Z1), would the pump be aftermarket?

Are there any part numbers I could look for to confirm they're from a Z1R vs. Z1? They have the 3 screw top, smaller angled float bowl drain plugs and look pretty darn close to my VM26s.

Pumpers came on 79-80 MarkII's. LTD's
These ones I am working on are from a 1980 KZ00B LTD model.
Stuff got changed around so often on these old bikes, you never know what the deal is.
Now that I typed this, I wonder if this 80 LTD has a MarkII engine? With big crank and big tranny?

if they are 28 mm accelerator pump carbs,
and if they only came on 1980 z1r's,
and if zedder can be believed.

My buddies 79 ST has a pumper... I think it has the MKII motor too, but wasn't advertised as having it... I heard the 80 ST didn't.

All '79 & '80 MkII chain and shafties that I've seen had the 28 pumpers on them from the factory, can't say for Z1R's as there just wasn't that many around here then and fewer now. If it is a TC then that's a different thing altogether. I think all true 79 & 80's only came with the MkII engine.

Z1E has the diaphragm you need, why the need to change timing?
