29mm smoothbore idle screw O-ring ????? was created by mtkawboy
Does anyone know if the o-rings in the cycleorings.com VM will work on the 29 mm smoothbores idle mixture screws ? The kits are for VM's on Suzukis. If not does anyone know where I can buy a set ?

Yes, the main jets are the same, but pilots are a different style.

Thanks, I made a Z1 Enterprises order today. Im going to drop from a 117.5 to a 115 because of the altitude here

Main jet affects the fuel mixture only at wide open throttle (or nearly wot).
Smaller main jet will produce leaner fuel mixture only at wide open throttle (or nearly wot).

The needle clip position affects fuel mixture during mid-range throttle positions, regardless of main jet size.

Running too rich at normal cruising speed, say during first 1/4 throttle position, could be caused by several different things, such as too high fuel level, clogged pilot air jet, dirty or blocked air filter, etc.

The "normal" main jet size is 120.

Good Fortune! :)

The BS30-97 air jet is easy to overlook when cleaning a smoothbore carb, because it's so small and inconspicuous (unless known about).

An imperfectly clean BS30-97 air jet may alone cause an excessively rich mixture during the first 1/4 throttle position, regardless of an otherwise perfect carb.

Good Fortune! :)

I had a brown out on that last post, Im dropping the 17.5 pilots to 15s. I have to chek where the needle clips are unless I can find where I wrote it down. Old age is a biatch ! I did throughly clean the air jets, but thanks anyway. The pilot jets were just clogged from sitting too long. Too many bikes !
