KZ550 Teikei TK-22 Carb website up

TK-22 site

I finally got around to cobbling up some of my tk-22 carb info into a website. I slapped it together pretty hastily just to get er done, so there may be a lot of typos etc.

Please let me know if you find any, or any other serious errors.

I will add the senter-to-center spacing info when I get a chance.
Also, I didn't quite have time to finish the page on adjustments and maint, so it's not up yet.

I don't know how this ended up in the Engine Forum.

Mods, can you fix my screw up, and put it into the Carbs forum. Many thanks.

Very interesting site! The TK22 is such a simple and easy carburetor to use. No accelerator pump and no diaphrams. I think you are right about the Dynojet kit being in error, as far as jetting recommendations for the KZ550 LTD.

That is a very nice job there, lots of good info for the popular carb. You'll have a great resource for many when you get it all fine tuned/ finished so to speak.

Comcast ended their web hosting. I had no choice but to change servers, and I'm not even sure I'll stay with this Amazon server.

Depending on condition, and time of year, of course, they range from about $40 to $150 on ebay.

They came on 80-82 Kz550A1 to A3, 80-83 Kz550C1 to C4, and 81 Kz550D1.
They will also fit some Kz500 models, and I think they will fit inline-four Kz400J models.
Some of those came with TK-21 carbs, but they will probably fit the TK-22.

They won't fit a 650.

Thanks for even putting it forward.

I will sleep better knowing you're still around the site in general.

If you end up with a few minutes to kill would you mind looking through my thread and lending your opinion where anything might occur to you?

I'd appreciate it. I feel like Im grasping at straws.

Thanks, but that thread is for a Kz650. Are you working on a 550 or 650, or both?

The 650 guys look like they have things sorted out on that thread.

On the 550, the bowl vents had hoses that went up and dead ended, open, near the top of the airbox. But often, I see them just left open with no hose connected, like on yours. If you do run hoses, make sure the hoses end in a part of the bike with stable air. You can alter the mixture if the vent gets into too much moving air. I didn't believe it until I saw it on a wideband analyzer.
