OK, so the cables on my @#$%^&!!! KZ650 are shot, so it's time for new ones.

The numbers on the existing cables are 12-140, and 12-141.

It has SuperBike bars on it, and the cables fit really well, so I was thhinking the factory cables might have been replaced with shorter ones, however, when I searched "12-140" throttle cable",I came across a thread where someone said his stock KZ650 had the same ones as mine. Are mine stock cables?

Also from my search, I learned 12-140 translates int PN 54012-140, and 12-141 translates into PN 54012-141, however, the cables listed for my bike on z1enterprises.com say they're: "Equivalent to OEM: 54012-081, 54012-087, 54012-149, 54012-150" www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=266

Searching 54012-081, I found this on ebay. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawasaki-Throttl...12-081-/170452349818

I've had GREAT service from z1enterprises.com, so i definitely prefer to buy from them whenever possible. Does anyone know what the difference between the cables is?

Thanks

The cables at Z1 fit a KZ1000. No way to tell the difference without having the cables side by side to compare, but logic would indicate to me the 1000 cables would be longer than 650 cables from the factory, however the difference may be only 1/4" but no way to tell without comparing.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
