Makes sense. Guess I've gotten lucky thus far, so no real gripes.

The reason I HATE Dynojet kits is because they use a very soft Aluminum on the needles and completely neglect to Anodize therm. This leads to extremely accelerated needle ware and the carbs are after that un-adjustable. Dynojet than requires you to buy the entire kit again because they will not sell you just the needles. I wore out a set of DJ needles in less than one season. I now make my own kits and they work much better. I have Needles made to OE Mikuni specifications and tolerances. In 85% of the upgrades though, new needles are not even required. Not to mention the fact that with the DJ kits you now are using a completely different gauging system on the jets themselves. DJ claims how much better their jets flow but I find that to be BULLSHIT. I find the Mikuni jets to be much better and actually use them in Keihin carbs for that reason.

Shit, I tought those dynos are titanium jet needles, and needle jets might wear out easier because titanium might be too hard metal. There is also counterfeit jet kits, and on those kits needles are aluminium.

I would not call them a scam, but I would definitely say that they are not worth the $100. and that they are a waste of money.

My dynojet needles are stainless steel. I do recall hearing about counterfeit (read that as Chinese counterfeit) jetting kits. I'll do a search real quick.

Same link here
No mention of needle material. But the counterfeit jets all have the same size orifice regardless of the number stamped on them.

I spent over $200 on two kits some years ago and they left a bad taste in my mouth. They may have been counterfeit or they are just doing this to cover up a screw up. I can't see someone counterfeiting this particular product and getting everything so wrong. I just can't see there being so much money in it being worth the work and effort to counterfeit this product.
