curious, are pilot jets interchangeable between 28 and 29mm carbs?
78 kz 1000
wiesco 1015
29mm smoothbores
gs1100 swingarm
gsxr rear

Yes, they should be if they resemble eachother.

Unless your taking about different manufacturers, then things get tricky ;)

PM Otto for he has several sets of 29 smoothies.... He'd be able to supply you some sound advice, where to get parts/jets, possibly have a manual or something who knows.

If remember correctly, so does Craig (trianglelaguna)...

Sorry, but I believe they do not interchange. The early 72 model VM28's use a Mikuni VM28/213 pilot jet. All of the rest of the VM28's and VM26's through 1978 use a Mikuni VM28/486 pilot. The VM29 smoothbore takes an entirely different pilot jet, Mikuni VM22/210. Click the link for Sudco's Mikuni jet info: Jet knowledge here.

That Sudco information is not very accurate.

The 73 and early 74 Z1 carbs (thru Z1E-32817) use a VM28/213 pilot jet. This jet is unique to these early carbs. The later VM28's fitted to the Z1's and all the VM26 & VM28 carbs fitted to the KZ900 / KZ1000 (and Suzuki GS's) use the VM28/486 pilot jet.

The VM29 used the VM22/210 jets. THese are also shared with the VM24's on the KZ650's.
