I have a set of Keihin carbs for an '82 750 Spectre. However the number two carb would not stop overflowing. No matter what remedy I could think of, nothing worked (including machining out the old brass float valve and putting in a new one). I ended up using a carb body from and E2 KZ750. There were some substantial differences between the two. This included a different size secondary air jet, different bleed pipe, different main jet size and a slighty different float bowl vent system. I ended up drilling out and removing the air jet and replacing it from the Spectre carb body, switched the bleed pipes and main jets, and modifed the float bowl vent system so that it should work. Now, nothing overflows or leaks and the float heights could all be set correctly. Initial tests on the bike resulted in a bit of decel popping for which I will mess with air screws a bit. My question is, does anyone see anything that I may have missed, or should I be good to go?
