float bowl screw size was created by saszta
Hi,
anyone know the metric size of the float bowl screws on a 78 KZ650 with stock mikuni carbs?
The bike's not near me (i'm at work) and I'm about to order some from Z1 enterprises. They got from 4X12 to 5X16.
Thanks,
Steve.

My 77 lists 4x16, I couldn't find the pan head screw size specific to the 78. Your buddy might want get the stainless allan/socket heads. It makes working on the carbs much quicker/easier.

I think they're the same for the 77 and 78 models. (4X16)
Thanks for the info.

Jeff at Z1Enterprises has great parts at fair prices, sometimes really good prices, but for Canucks in Ontario or close by, Brafasco stocks pretty much any stainless Allan/socket head screws/bolts that you need. Apparently they also have locations in some northern states.

Thanks again.
Jeff does have great prices even when converted to CAD and he also confirmed the size of the float bowl screws.
I'll be checking out the Brafasco site next.

saszta,
I got allen head metric screws for my float bowls etc. at Canadian Tire. Look for the section with the little drawers where you can buy the screws singly. Mine were 4 x 12. Cant remember what other sizes they sell. I'm pretty sure they also sell regular type metric screws.
For the bigger screws Brafasco are great. I have been slowly replacing all engine bolts with stainless steel allen from these guys.
Cant help but notice your signature. I agree, I would give Montreal 10 out of 10 for beautiful women
