BS carbs on a '77 kz1000; rejet? was created by kzmason
I was wondering, if i got some bs34's for an '81+ 1000 on my bike, if they would need to be rejetted. On z1enterprises I notice that there is a cc difference between the '77 and the '81+ kz1000's and wondered if that would call for a rejet to use them on my bike.

The difference between the 77-80 KZ1000 and later KZ1000 versions is engine type. The displacement changed from 1015cc to 998cc but horsepower is actually a bit greater in the later and smaller displacement J engine.
If you buy BS34s carbs, keep in mind that they came on bikes of various states of tune and displacement and rejetting these correctly will be relative to their OEM jetting and the difference between the original bike and your own.
