BS34 Vacuum Sync Questions
29 Oct 2010 04:17
New shop manual and carbtune arrived this week. I'm going to sync the BS34 carbs on my 82 GPz750. I don't see the procedure in the manual. Is there anything specific I need to know? Do I sync the carbs in pairs? I can't remember if one of the carbs is fixed as far as the butterfly adjustment.
Thanks

I think you should have no real problems at all. I have a Z750 H1 (Ltd). I done 1+2 first, then 3+4 and lastly 2+3 simply because 2+3 were awkward to get at with the frame. The differnce once there done is amazing.
Good Luck!

I Started out with nothing and still have most of it left.

Did you order the 2 cylnder version ??
I would like to get one of the Morgan carb tunes if you dont mind I would like to hear how your experiance goes befor I drop a 150 dollar bill.
I also have the bs 34s I have been trying to "ear it in" thats about a joke :woohoo: am thinking new diaphrams and a carb tune for my bike for x mas !
Just wondering how big of a diffrence the carb synk will make.

You will love the carbtune. Follow the carbtune instructions to fit the restrictors or whatever they are called... and that is if they are needed on your model. I bought mine about 5 years ago.
Take the bike for a run so it is warmed up.
Take off the gastank. Hook up the carbtune. I use a lawnmower gastank on the saddle.
Have fun. My # 2 carb is fixed so I tweak 1,3 and 4 a wee bit at a time. Blip the throttle every now and then and let the rods settle and tweak again. With a bit of practice you get fast at it. If it is taking some time I would recommend using a fan on the motor.
It will make a difference.

Thanks for the feedback. I picked up the Carbtune II. It has the restrictors already in the 4 hoses. I have a fan and I also use a lawnmower gas tank as a satellite gas tank. I'm looking forward to trying it this weekend.

R2Ryde - I bought the 4 column version of the carbtune as I have a 4 cylinder 750. I've been working on this bike awhile and feel I'm getting near the end. I'll report my experience over the weekend.

I finally got a chance to work on the bike yesterday. Everything I heard about the Carbtune was true. It's a great tool and worked great. When I first hooked it up, carb #1 was way off vs. the other 3. It took me about 10 minutes to sync all of them. The idle on the bike really smoothed out and its running great.
