Heres my issue. I'm picking up a 93 motor and carbs. I currently have a 96. I need to put in some new jets so I will be in the carbs anyway. Question is do I use the 96 carbs, in running condition with 63k on them, or do I use the 93, been sitting for 5 years, 35k on them carbs. Again, I have to put in new jets so going through the 93 carbs is not an issue.

Also, i have straight pipes and I understand I should go up 2 sizes per mod. Is this true? Any other info is helpful. Thanks.

Both the 93 and 96 carbs are BS34 so I suspect it doesn't much matter which set you use but of course, you will want to use the best of the two. I would rejet the carbs for straight pipes by going up one size pilot jet and raising the jet needles some (2 Mikuni shims) and probably two sizes up on the mains... I don't like straight pipes because of the problems they pose ridding the rpm range of flat spots.
