If you are going to bore out your carbs, you must have a way to get the slides farther down in the bore. Otherwise the bike won't idle down past 2500 rpm because the slide will bottom out on the recess in the bottom of the bore and leave to large of a gap.
I just bored out a set of 26mm to 29.5 , I made a special cutter to cut the seat where the slide sits.
When you cut the seat ,don't go too deep or you will cut right through into the bowl. These are pretty tricky to do.
You also have to move the clip position, since the slide sits lower in the bore. I put mine on my 76 900Ltd and it runs great!

Good luck.

i had heard that when boring carbs that you have to offset the bore(up) a little to keep from breaking through.do you (dshelly)know if this is true?
