Texans spend half the day singing ;)

We're implementing a similar program at my place next month. I've been taking tap dancing lessons via the Internet.

Wife got really ticked when I tore out the carpets and glued some 1/4" steel on my sneakers last week

I'll be broadcasting live via my webcam at 11:30am M-F EST. Currently taking requests for the music :woohoo:

PS - You should see me tap out Layla ;)

There are certain gunsmithing places that measure their lead times in the passing of haley's Comet as well....... but, they are kind enough to take a deposit then notify you a couple of weeks before your "spot" in line comes up so you can send it in and get it back in the same year.

WG has had my carbs for 4 months and I'm still not in the top 20. If this is normal he must have alot of customers.
Just checking if anyone else had him do their carbs and what the turn-around time was. Not worried, just wondering. Thanks.

By any chance, did you inquire on this web sight before you sent them out? But to answer your question, Is it too long for someone to have your carbs? YES. Is it long for WG to have your carbs? About 6-9 months seams to be the norm for him. Sometimes longer.

Nope. Went on the recommendations of many others on a different site. I did do alot of searching this site about carb rebuilds and to be honest I would have flipped a coin as to which one to send them to. Great things said about both of you. The funny thing is I'm not even ready to put them on the bike yet. I'm sending the motor out next spring for a rebuild, wonder how long that will take?

Whaa... Did I read that right...

4 months is absolute torture to a motorcyclist!

Please tell me this wasnt thru the summer months, leaving you stranded without a 2 wheel ride.

I think my record longest time was 2 weeks waiting for parts delivery and installation included.

Oh well, they better be crazy awsome carbs when you get them back!

Cheers.

i just did 2 sets of cv carbs myself tonight one set was sitting for over 10 years i have to get some rebuild kits for those ones but at most they will be together in less than 2 weeks the other set i did in about an hour and installed them on a gpz1100 that i just happen to have on the bench and test ran them and set them up also in about an hour mind you i didn't make them all purty on the outside like they would be after cleaning them in an ultra sonic tank but they work i did this after i worked all day preping for my first official day of teaching next week so going off that time frame i should be able to at least 10 sets a day. yes i'm thinking 4 months way to long.

I don't know about the carb repair site you sent them to. But I would not wait that long for a rebuild. Now some custom work/ tuning might be different.
Sounds like your not in a hurry for them, is that what came across when you talked to the repair shop?

Yikes!

Yeah, anyone with a work queue page is probobly not the fastest.

Like someone else said, it only takes about an hour once they're cleaned.

Good luck, and congrats on the teaching... it's actually very rewarding.
