no (well actually yes, but it will run like crap). In fact, it will run like crap even if you do adjust the carbs if you have no mufflers. ed

Lacking back pressure, would expect significant loss of torque especially in low end and mid-range, where most riding is typically enjoyed. Fastest attainable speed could be about the same.
Will likely need ear plugs if expecting to ride much further than around the block.

Ok. Then a 4-into-1 it will be. found a cheap 4-1 on the net. it'll be a good cold weather project. thnx for the advice folks.
