long warmup was created by ace
my 78 kz1000 takes forever to warm up... i start it with choke, kick it down to like 2grand and wait like 5- 10 mins till it holds its idle at 1 grand.. is this common??? by then shes all set & runs perfect. my carbs are clean & jetted& my fuel lines are filtered.im not sure if its related but my coils are original and im thinkin of replacing them. any ideas out there???

Which carb's do you have? Seems like a long time to me, maybe a vacuum leak? How many turns out are your Idle mixture screws? Maybe a bit richer here would help?

not sure exactly/ mikunis i believe... prolly factory carbs for a 78. i will check the boots for leaks but i dont think its that cuz once shes warm she runs like a bear. its got emgo pods& a star racing header as well, also shes got about 40k on the clock. maybe its time for a rebuild??? i had a big block caddy, did the same thing.....took awhile to warm up,then watchout!!!! thanx for the advise.

Have you synced the carb's? They will be rougher when cold, and maybe with the pods you might be a bit lean. Try moving your Needles to lift them 1 notch. This may make it run a bit better cold.
