Confusing bs34?? was created by vonbagh
I have kz750 1982. there is wiseco 810 pistons, gpz cams, intake and exhaust ports are cleaned, head milled 0,01". I bought mikuni bs 34 carbs from Germany. Seller said that carbs are from 1984 gpz750 unitrack. When I got those carbs I opened them and pilot is 37,5 main 127, needle is 5C48. Now I have done some research, and i found out that there is similar carbs on kz 1000 r. My question is, where those carbs really are?
Carbs are cleaned and i synchronized them, when I tried them with 40 pilots,140 mains and K&N pods, it was terrible rich. I had to change my plugs after test drive.

With the jet #s you provided it is hard to tell what they came from. First of all, All Kawasaki bikes in those years came with dual taper needles, with the exception of one that came with a single taper needle a "5C48" and a "5C50". That is the Kawasaki 1000R1 the 5C50 came on US models and 5C48 on all other model KZ1000R1s. Those are very rare carburetors. You will have a hard time tuning those for your bike because most likely you also have a Y-4 "Needle Jet" That jet is a bit too lean and new ones are extremely expensive if you can find them. It should be a Y-9 if it came from a 750, but you might be able to make it work with a lean low-mid range. Second of all you went much too large on both, your Pilot jet and your Main jet. Your pilot did not require changing. It should have stayed at 37.5. Your main jets should be between 120-122.5. You will also require new needles. The ones you have will be almost impossible to make work. The 750 needles are between 5-8mm shorter than the ones you have. Plus you have the very radical single taper. If you find a set of dual taper needles you should be able to shim them enough to make them work. Your best bet is to take those carburetors put them back into the condition you bought them in with respect to the jetting and sell them back on eBay as coming from a 1982 KZ1000R1. Those were very rare carburetors and you should get more money than you paid for them. Than find yourself another set of carburetors which actually came from a ZX750. Keep the jets in the sizes I listed previously. I run a 140 on a 1150 with .420 lift cams and 39mm intake valves and a head that runs about 100cfm. In other words, you are WAY over jetted for that bike.

Not sure I understand question...

My KZ1000 Came with a set of Mikuni BS34 Carbs.

Everything is stock, and jetting is Pilots 37.5, Mains 122.5

Running pods on these carbs requires a specific needle taper, and modification to the carb slides for proper response. The small intake air jets can also get covered up partially by the pod to carb gasket.

YES! My luck. Who wants to change these to the carbs which are from gpz750?
