Agreed. Seafoam is the real deal. My 26's always hang up after not riding for a while. I add some Seafoam, start the bike up for a few minutes and then let it do it's thing for the night. The next morning the carbs are golden. Oh, and +1 on the whole can for a good initial clean.

Well I haven't been able to ride alot lately. The last time was two days ago for just a few minutes to the bank. After I got home the #3 carb starting kinda pouring out gas in a little stream from that nipple thing that sticks out the bottom. I would say it was about a tablespoon of gas at a time and it would happen about every three minutes. I tapped the carb with a wrench very lightly and it stopped. Today I smelled gas in the garage and found a pool covering about 3 sq feet on the floor. What gives?

Check petcock function....if it shuts fuel flow when the engine stops it would be nearly impossible to have a 3 foot puddle under the bike.

The petcock seems to be working ok. The bike has been sitting there for two days with no leaking. I walked past it this afternoon with no gas leaking. just an hour later gas was all over the floor.

if my memory serves me correct 79 kz650sr had the vacuum operated fuel tap correct ? does yours ? if so fuel should shut off when engine is stopped. if carbs run out of overflow tubes you have issues with needles and seats.
