What is this outlet for? was created by barquirt
Good morning all.
I have a set of carburetors for a 1979 KZ650SR. They are the slide-type carburetor bank with an accelerator pump on the #2 carburetor.
On this set of carburetors, I have three brass nozzles/fittings. Two I recognize as the outlets for the overflow tubes, but there is a third brass nozzle on one of the carburetor bodies. What is this for? An extra drain? Or is to be linked up with something? Or capped?
When i have the carburetors installed on the bike and all the fuel lines, etc. attached properly i can't figure out what purpose this nozzle serves.

Do a search for the fairly recent fuel line help topic in the Carburetor section. It has a photo of your carbs w the various ports labeled.

Really? The petcock vent line attaches to a carburetor? I thought it was routed to one of the four outlets on the intake boot.
I will try this setup tonight and see if I have success.

Actually, the petcock has a vacuum port - it's not a vent. It shouldn't matter whether you connect it to the carb vacuum port or carb-holder vac port. Whichever one isn't used should be capped. If the other carb holders have unused vacuum nipples, they should be capped as well.Really? The petcock vent line attaches to a carburetor?
