air cleaner for 78 kz1000 was created by 78saki
this is my first post on here but I have been on here several times looking for answers to my bike problems. I finally have a question I cannot find the answer to.
I have a 1978 kz1000 LTD. When I bought it, it had pod filters on the carbs. I have grown tired of dealing with the pods, they look cool and it breathes better, but I cant ride it when it is windy or in the rain, which it does often here. I have been looking for a complete air cleaner assembly, everything from the boots back to the silencer, and have had a hard time finding one, unless I want to blow $500 on a new one from bikebandit.com (they're the real bandits)
I did, however, find a complete used assembly for a 76 kz900 for $45+ shipping. does anyone know if this will fit my bike? I talked to the guy on the phone and he seemed to think so, but I want to be sure.
I appreciate any advice. thanks. Vic

Here are some on Ebay, best to get new rubber connectors if available as they can be a pain.

There are reputable online bike dismantlers if you search. I have used this one:
