Reconstituting Old Rubber Parts for your carbs.

I wanted to try and reconstitute a set of airbox manifolds. They are a different plastic and I had to go threw everything I had to find a set of old ones that were rock hard. I had no problem of finding a set of new ones I had, but all of the old ones I usually threw away. I did finally find the set from the CSR that I used to build my GPz. Now I had to figure out how to picture the hard and the soft. I figured out that I can do it with a .5" piece of flat steel I have. OK I took the pictures of the SOFT manifolds I had under the pressure of the steel. Here are a couple of pictures of "virgin" plastic, brand new tubes.

Here is a set of OLD and hard tubes under the same load. These are actually of larger diametric and should crush more. The old ones I have are for 34mm CV carbs and the new ones are for 26mm carbs.

OK tomorrow evening I will show what the old boot will do, no matter what the results are. Obviously I am keeping my fingers crossed for a nice and soft piece of tubing.

Some of these chemical components can not be shipped by common shipping methods. This means that I Can not provide the mixed product and I WILL not provide the formulation. If you want your parts refurbished, I will be happy to do it for you. If there are no holes they should be able to be reconstituted.
