clear tube fuel test question was created by asevans
kz 900 stock 26mm carbs. doing the clear tube test this evening and in the manual it says the fuel level should be 1/8 inch below the top of the float bowl. now, the top of my float bowl which is the bottom bowl goes up inside of the top carb body about an 1/8 inch. the picture on the clymers isnt very clear. where exactly do i measure from? thanx in advance.

im having trouble with my bike running lean or rich. i thought i would rule out the fuel level being the culprit. what you do is screw a clear tube into the drain plug and open the fuel valve letting fuel to seek its own level. hold the tube up to carb body. the fuel should be where the red line in pattons picture shows. it seems to be pretty important, everybodies always talking about it.

Don't know if he's still selling these on ebay, but for $11 it is a great tool! Got mine awhile ago and it works awesome.
Another "level" pic for you!
