They need to be lower than the lowest level of fuel in the fuel tank; so as long as they are under the tank you will be ok. Ed

Also, since we're on the subject, stay away from urethane and vinyl fuel lines, or any other see-through fuel lines. The urethane will only last a few months, and the vinyl will only last a few days.

I understand the yellow "Tygon" fuel lines are the ones that resist the Alcohol/Gas mixes the best.

Where do you guys purchase this "Tygon" line from? I am assuming that is a brand name? I just recently put on the clear PVC stuff that Z1enterprises sells from MotionPro and didn't think it would be a problem. MotionPro claims it is safe to use with gasoline. This is the stuff: www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/12-0002/

I guess I should have been using the "premium" fuel line they sell ( www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/12-0044/ )?

Yes, Tygon is a brand. It used to be available at the Kaw dealer. I've got it on my bike. Exposure to fuel has stiffened it up some. A member here w a ton of miles gave it a big thumbs down, though. Someone mentioned a particular tubing material to get but I don't recall what type it is.

I purchased my transparent "yellow" fuel line from Mcmaster-carr. 3 years ago and it still holding up fine. It must be the Tygon.

Had Tygon on my Virago about 3.5 years with no problems. I found at a small hardware store in Akron, Ohio.

Hmmm. I've been using the PVC line bought from Z1E for a couple years. No problems so far. The line has hardened a bit, but no leaks or anything.
