Im way above my head here :-)

I bought a new engine for my 1975 z400.

It seems the enginge i have bought is a z 400 G from 1979. The enginge id number is K4G00141. As far as i can read from kz400.com model identification ithat means it is a z400-G1 from 1979. Is that correct?

The Carburetors i bought has an ID number: V54B PL21
I cant find any info about this carb. Does anyone knows what this carb is? It fits on the engine, and it is a 32mm, but i have no idea what the float level is etc.

Does anyone know if i can make the bike run with this carb? and how to do it?

I have swapped the engine and tried to mount the carbs, but the bike does not start. It sounds almost like it does not get enough fuel.

Here are some pictures of carbs and engine

Any advice is greatly appriciated..

Thanks
Martin

Hello Martin...are you, by any chance, in Germany? The motor VIN was unique to the 1979 G model sold in (at the time) West Germany. The carbs look like Mikuni BS32 CV. I do not have any manuals for the 400 series...someone else will step in to help you, I'm sure.

Hi Mcdroid.

No, im from Denmark, but we have a lot of bikes from Germany here in Denmark.

The Carbs are Keihin and they are not identical to any of the carbs in the manual for the Z400 '79 bike. So perhaps they come from another bike.

I really hope someone knows something about the carbs.

Cheers,
Martin

I cant identify those carbs but if they fit they will run the engine, although you may have a lot of problems tuning them. Technically you could just pour gas in the open manifold and it would fire.
