ok dont know where to start.1979 kz1000 ltd with 26mm carbs,120 main jet,header 4 into 1,air pod filters,15 pilot,wont hold a idle without choke on ,cut coke off bike wont stay idling just dies out.need help,and thank you so much if you can.p.s. dont help to turn idle up,just gets worce.is 120 to much fuel?

Would suspect imperfect carb pilot circuits for whatever reason, such as clogged fuel and/or air passages, damaged pilot jet, etc.

Stock main is 105R and pilot 15.

Imo, 120 main isn't causing the reported idle problem, and not affecting idle or lower speed running at all for that matter.

The bike, when new, idled just fine with 15 pilot.
Imo pods don't affect pilot circuit mixture all that much.

In any event, won't hurt to try next size larger pilot jets, as these models were tuned lean because of EPA regs.

With pods, should expect additional carb tuning efforts, and probably never get performance throughout throttle range as good as stock airbox.
